Seat Belt Latch Problem: Warranty?
Question:
Hello, I have a 95 EB. The driver side seat belt latch spring seems to be compressed alot, so that the button doesn’t pop up well. With little upward pressure from the spring, the seat belt will sometimes disconnect with a tug. I’m wondering if this is considered a safety type violation and Ford might cover the part? If not, I’ll have to take my Torx bits to the junk yard, and try to find a grey one. Anyone with a similar problem? Thanks, Ted

Haven’t seen any safety recalls on the Explorer. You may want to look down inside the seatbelt latch mechanism…… I’ve seen all manner of detritus wind up in there….. — Jim Warman
