Does the radio need "codes"?? I have a Mach 460 in my 99 GT and the manual says nothing about needing any "codes" for it. Yours may be different but I have a hard time believing people would need a code for the radio if their battery died on them.

My wife’s Acura Legend has a radio that needs a code to work if the battery is disconnected. This is an anti-theft thing, so that if someone steals the radio from the car they can’t use it without the code. — University of California, Irvine phone: 949-824-6926 Network & Academic Computing Services FAX: 949-824-2069

That radio doesn’t have codes. However, when you have the problem with the display going blank or problems with you volume control, then you should check out: www.shareamemory.com/radio or www.fixyourford.com – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > i need the radio codes for the mach premium sound system on an explorer eddie > bauer (1999) I need to replace the battery and this is needed please help > thanx!

If you are concerned about lost memory settings when disconnecting the battery you can check out a tool called the "Memor-Eze". It allows you to connect a 9 volt battery to the cigarette lighter thereby supplying all vehicle memories with power during the disruption…. yes, I said 9 volts and yes, it does work IF THE DIRECTIONS ARE FOLLOWED TO THE T. That means if you thoughtlessly open a door or such, kiss your memories goodbye. IIRC you might find it at http://www.otctools.com — Jim Warman
